Want to join a friend, a community server, or a specific Counter-Strike 1.6 game mode? Connecting directly by server address is often faster than searching through a long server browser list.

Connect using the in-game console

  1. Open Counter-Strike 1.6 and enable the developer console in the game settings if necessary.
  2. Open the console, usually with the ~ key. Keyboard layouts vary, so check your settings if that key does not work.
  3. Enter the command below, replacing the example address with the server’s real IP address or hostname and port.

Remember the port

If a server lists a port, include it after the colon. Two servers can use the same IP address but different ports.

Join from the server browser
