  1. Download your desired player skin model from anywhere. Most skins can be found at GameBanana.
  2. Open your downloaded .rar or .zip file with model files inside.
  3. Player skin goes to cstrike/models/player/ folder in most case. So do like that: just drag and drop, let’s say, sas or gign folder from WinRar archive file to previous mentioned destination to replace those folders and files inside your game addons folder.
  4. That’s it! Just launch the game and check it out – it should be working perfectly!

To maintain your game in a correct way we 100% recommend avoid using custom player models or skins. That would save some time of problems and malfunctions, not responding or just game crashes along with the better game experience. Also some servers use “sv_consistency 1” setting which means they don’t allow custom models on server from client-side. It’s rare, but can happen and we recommend you avoiding over-modding your game and saving you some nerves. That’s it – now you know how to change player models in CS 1.6! Good luck!
